Winners of the Renaissance Challenge
During its spring campaign, Renaissance was challenging the residents of nineteen municipalities and boroughs in the Greater Montreal Area from April 25 to May 23, 2015: Ahuntsic-Cartierville, Beaconsfield, Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, Dorval, Île-Bizard–Sainte-Geneviève, LaSalle, Laval, Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, Outremont, Pierrefonds-Roxboro, Plateau-Mont-Royal, Rivière-des-Prairies–Pointe-aux-Trembles, Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie, Sainte-Julie, Saint-Lambert, Saint-Laurent, Town of Mount Royal, Verdun and Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension.

All the citizens were invited to bring their donations of clothing and reusable items to their neighbourhood Donation Centre in support of their municipality.

In all, 1,587,355 pounds of clothing and other household goods were collected and have been diverted from landfill sites during this period. Thanks to the nice weather and the great contribution of the population, Renaissance had a 29.38% increase in donations over its Fall 2014 Campaign.

At the end of the contest, Renaissance is proud to announce the winning municipalities.

Winners of the Spring 2015 Renaissance Challenge:

  • Prize for the most donations collected: Verdun with 5,676 donations
  • Prize for the most donations collected per 1,000 residents: Dorval with 136.53 donations per 1,000 residents
  • Prize for the highest increase in donations compared to the previous campaign: Outremont with an increase of 76.85%
