“I now have confidence in myself and that helps me to progress.”

Gizelle studied accounting and worked for fifteen years in the accounting department of a company which made kitchen ware. The political instability in her country and the difficult conditions of daily life pushed her and her family to leave Lebanon. Her arrival in Quebec was very difficult. “I didn’t speak French very well, it was a shock at first.” She enrolled right away in French courses, and later received an accreditation (AEC) in financial accounting. She applied for jobs without success because of her lack of experience in Quebec. Then she became a participant at Renaissance. “The whole team helps me a lot, they take the time to explain things clearly; it is as if I have always worked with them.”
